What the product is

PTT Talkie is designed around a single gesture: hold to talk, release to listen. Everything else in the app exists to protect that gesture — keeping the connection alive, showing who is reachable, and replaying what you missed.
Built for work, not for feeds
There is no timeline, no follower count and no social layer. A channel is a working tool shared by a small group, and it disappears from your life the moment you leave it.
Honest about state
The app reports what is actually happening. When the connection is stale it says so; when it reconnects it says so; when it is listening in the background it says so. Silence is treated as a bug, not a feature.
How decisions get made
Ask for as little as possible
No account, no contacts, no advertising identifiers. Every permission the app requests has a single, explainable purpose, and the privacy page lists them all.
Measure nothing you do not need
There is no analytics SDK and no behavioural profiling. Product decisions come from support conversations and from testing the app the way it is actually used.
Prefer boring reliability
The interesting engineering goes into reconnecting, replaying and staying alive on bad networks — the places where a push-to-talk app normally falls apart.
Ship the fix
Every published build is listed in the changelog with its date and contents, including the small hotfixes. If a release broke something, the entry says so.
